Default Stupid question

Sorry for this question. I should know this but I don't. How do you steam cauliflower? I don't have a steamer and I don't know how to do it. I am making this unpotatoe salad for the first time and I would like to know if it keeps well and can be served cold and if it is good the next day like real potato salad. The recipe said it should be served warm but I was really hoping for some cold potato salad leftovers.

you can microwave it, or put it in a put with some water, let the water boil and keep the lid on

I cut it up and put it in a big bowl with just a very little water, put it in the microwave for about 20 minutes or so. I guess it depends on your microwave, so just check it occassionally. I make it about once a week. I love it. It does taste better warm but that is just my opinion. It keeps very well. My batch will last about three days before I finish eating it all up, so I don't know if it will last longer than that. It has never been around long enough for me to know. To me it taste just like potatoes, even though my kids don't think so, but they do love it. Good luck and enjoy

This is how I steam califlower:
Cut it up, put in a glass bowl, sprinkle with salt and about 2-3 tbs of water.
Cover with plastic wrap and microwave about 5-10 minutes (depending on your microwave) Just keep checking on it till tender!
Hope this helps!

Oh, I'm sorry! I usually use FROZEN cauliflower. If fresh, it probably would take a while. Maybe put it in a pot with salt and 2-3 tbs of water, put the lid on and simmer for about 20 minutes?

After making the cauli-tatoe receipe and being so wet! Well the next time, I just put it the whole cauliflower (fresh) into my corningware bake dish, salted, peppered and a pat of butter, put a lid on, into the microwave for 4 minutes on HIGH, was PERFECT. If frozen, I do the same but check and stir sometimes frozen needs another minute. No more WET califlower.
