HI!
I switched to eating more soy products--burgers, crumbles, sausage--this week in an effort to start eating less beef (preference) and less processed meat (sausage, cold cuts, etc.) and to up my "good fats" like olive oil, avocado, small amounts of nuts, etc. (because of very high Cholesterol) while lowering the % of fat I get from animal products.
I LIKE soy stuff a lot AND after slow weight loss for 2-3 weeks, I've lost 5 pounds this week!!! :-)
I'm still eating chicken, fish, and beef (once a week) whenever I want, but I'm subbing the other stuff, which I prefer to beef and most pork (except ham. I'm a sucker for ham
), and the weight is just coming off like crazy.
I've found that soy HELPS my weight loss, but BEER, sadly, stalls me out. I've been beer-free from over 2 months . . . sigh. Interestingly, a small glass of red wine (full of those good anti-oxidants for your heart!
) does NOT stall me. Something to think about.
Good luck whatever you decide! If you want to swap soy or Lent stories (or recipes) I'm with ya! I've given up "lc candy" for Lent . . . and that one's a doozie!
Sue
