Smile newbie says hello to TDC..

I wanted to briefly introduce myself, since from what I have seen, you all are so encouraging and supportive - and I know at the start of this journey I need that!

My name is Heather, and at the start of this I have 120 to lose, and my life to gain! I am a 35 year old SAHM. (DH has enable this, and I thank him daily! ok except when our 17 month old is climbing yet another piece of furniture and I have to fly to remove her before a fall... ) I am essentially a retired nurse left to feeling somehow useless now at times.

I know LC was the last thing I wanted to do for weight loss, I had heard nothing great about it for what seems like forever. Yes, I was a low cal cult member, and a past vegetarian to boot! However I went from about 115 to 260 that way. Worked well at keeping me healthy, didn't it? In these past several months my husband and I both realized we needed something to change... and I started researching for who lost and maintained most... on which "diets" ... this brought me to a change of mind & heart towards LC. Not only is it not a diet (a WOL to embrace) but it was the way I sought.

So, here I am a few days into this. Still very excited and motivated... but knowing I will need all the support and help I can get! And looking forward to getting involved on this board!

Thanks for "listening"!

Howdy Heather, I'm a Heath and welcome to one of the most supportive places on the web, especially for SAHM. Check out the buddies/challenges section and you'll find a lot of other folks in your boat.

Hi from another SAHM. I'm a former teacher so I understand what you mean about feeling kind of lost at times. It took me awhile to get used to a new lifestyle! Welcome to the TDC! Make yourself right at home!

Welcome aboard Heather!

I'm a 34 year old, married, mom of three. 12, 11 and 4. I own my own business, so I'm lucky to be able to take my youngest to work with me. I'm also able to be home when the older two return from school.

Good luck with the LC. It has worked wonders for me. I'll never go back to all the sugar!
