Default TGI Friday's on Induction!!

Hi everyone!

DH and I are on Atkins, DS is more or less going along for the ride since, well, there's not much to eat in the house but low carb. Yesterday we went to TGI Friday's for the first time to try out the low-carb menu. I've read the stats on the Subway meals and the Ruby Tuesday meals and they're a little bit too high for us, we're both doing induction at the moment. Anyway, we were totally won over by the food! He ordered the two cheeseburger patties, I ordered the garlic chicken, and we mixed-n-matched. Very tasty, totally filling, and two of the three tables around us were also ordering low-carb. Didn't have to explain to the waiter ("That's right. NO BUN. No, you can take that ketchup too...")

To me, the food tasted like TGI Friday's did it right. It tasted like the first priority was good taste, within the parameters of low carb, rather than like they were trying to duplicate some forbidden goody and coming up short. We'll be back.

Best wishes,
Nancy

I went to TGI Fridays yesterday too!! My boyfriend and I shared the Atkins buffalo wings (which tasted exactly like their regular wings).. and then I ordered the Atkins broiled samlon with broccoli. I was delicious and I am so happy that there are restaurants out there that offer such great Atkins food!!
I am only on my 6th day of induction, so I hope this eating out session was ok.. my taste buds sure thought it was

I'm totally addicted to their spinach / cheese dip with veggies. 17 grams total but can barely eat half. Next time you go, that's a great one to share.

The buffalo wings are the same ones on the regular menu. I asked because the ones on the Atikins menu were 10c cheaper, so I wondered if anything was different, of if the serving serving size was different, and the waitress said no. I was a little turned off by the prices, but TGIF's has always been on the pricy side for a chain resaurant. I just can't bring myself to pay $7.99 for a burger that doesn't come with a side.

We ate at TGI Fridays this weekend as well. The Cheeseburger Cheeseburger was good. Very well seasoned. I was concerned about it being just the patties. As the menu does not indicate a side. However it is served with some sort of small salad with vinagrette dressing. Pretty tasty. But I had already had a regular house salad and didnt eat but a tiny bit of it.
