Yes - in fact, it might stop completely. It depends on your body and how you're eating, but I've stopped short of my goal because I eat a little too much of the stuff that would make the difference: cheese, coffee, nuts, booze... and I don't exercise enough.
1-2 lbs every other week is still a good rate of weight loss. A slow loss is still a loss, so whatever you're doing now, keep doing it.
