Default Ketone Strips!!!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I was wondering where I could purchase some of the ketone strips to test my urine? What brand has worked for you and how often should I test myself?

thanks,

SabbyKay

I got mine at Kroger, in the pharmacy and over the counter area. Mine are Ketostix made by Bayer (the aspirin people I guess). I tested my urine whenever I thought about it when I was further from goal. The best time is on first awakening in the morning.

Read the low carb tips link at the top of the screen. Any color means you are in ketosis. Having a darker color doesn't mean faster weight loss. In fact it could mean you aren't drinking enough water which is making the keotenes concentrated in the urine. If you test in the middle of the day they could also be indicating the burning of diatary fat, not your own. Measuring first thing in the morning is often the best sign.

Wal-Mart has the strips as does GNC and most drug stores. They are in with the diabetic supplies in some places...just ask.

Be careful with the strips. I think they are a waste of money. I have never had them change color for me and I am still losing weight. Please use them only for a guideline otherwise you might get discouraged. Good Luck
