Default Started my workout routine!!! Advice about routine!

Hey any advice is welcome.

30 min. cardio at 80% THR

25 min lower body workout/ 3 sets of 8's on 7 different exercise for my legs.

I will alternate upper body and lower body. I wonder if 4 days a week cardio is enough with only 2 days a week weight training.

I must be the slowest loser on the board, but I'm still plugging away.

Thanks for advice!!

Default Any advice

My trainer recommended I do 45-60min of cardio 4-5x/wk when I was trying to lose weight. Are you only doing weight training for each body part 1x/wk? You probably need to go 2x/wk to see results. HTH

Sorry,

I do each body part 2x per week. I feel like I need to start with 30 min, since I have not exercised in a while.

I hope this is enough. Thanks!

Hi Mystery,

In my view, if you opt for morning empty stomach cardio, 30 min would be more than enough since you'll basically be burning fat stores right off the bat.

80% MHR is perfect! I think you can do weights every other day. For example, upper body for Monday, then lower body for Wenesday, then upper again for Friday etc.....

That gives 4 days for each major muscle group to rebuild. Have you tried the circuit routine for lower and upper? that should work very well augmented by morning empty stomach cardio.

Good luck!

Frederick

I'm unable to do my workout in the AM. But, I eat lunch about 1:00 pm and exercise at 5:30pm with no snacks in between. Do you think my system is completely depleted of carbs by that time. Carb count on average, BF - 5-6 LUNCH -7. I do not have a sit down job. Technical Analyst - computer to computer all day.

Thanks for your advice.
