Smile Introduction

I discovered this forum site only yesterday and posted an intro in the New Member section; someone suggested that I drop in here.

I discovered Protein Power early last summer when a customer at the bookstore where I worked at the time ordered a copy, then took his time coming in to get it. While it was waiting for him to pick it up, one day I paged through it, and liked what I saw. So I ordered my own copy, and began the plan July 2nd, 2002.

At the time, I weighed in at about 425 pounds, with a waist size 56.

I now weigh in at about 290, with a waist size 46.

I have no idea what my goal weight is, but I use 220 as an arbitrary target. I'll just know what my goal is when I get there.

I am still on Phase I of Protein Power, limiting my carb intake to no more than 30 grams per day. My blood pressure is down, my blood chemistry has normalized (blood sugar, triglycerides, uric acid all normal; cholesterol is a little high but not alarmingly so, and my doc says as I continue to lose weight this should change.)
(My doctor is of the "if it's working, it's a good thing" headspace.)

My exercise consists of a 15-minute walk each way to and from work. That's a 1/2 hour of walking five days a week.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell.

Cool awesome

Welcome to the forum and to the Triple Digits Club, Glenn!

Looking at our stats, it seems that we have much in common! Congratulations on your success with LCing thus far...

There's a lot of information to pull from in this area (and other parts of the forum), but I'm sure there's much you can share with the members of this group from your own experiences. I hope we can look forward to learning more about your journey...

Welcome!

Donald
