Cool new 2 U, but old timer with LC

Hey Yawl... yep, you got a southern boy here. Pat and I live in Roanoke, Virginia. Actually, Pat was born and raised here, and I'm originally from East Tennessee (Elizabethton) and moved to Roanoke after graduating from VCU in Richmond, VA. When I met Pat in 1984 I weighed 180' with a 32" waist. Worked out daily, and was on the Atkins Plan back then. A couple of years later I broke my left knee for the third time and stopped working out. It didn't matter 'cause Pat seemed to make things very content and slowly I went off the Atkins and on the "taters." My waist line got up to size 40 (I never weighed because I was afraid of what I would see), but I know I was in the neighborhood of 240+. I re-injured my knee and was back on rehab and decided to rehab it all. Back on Atkins and working out, this was around November 2001. Now, still on Atkins and working out, waist line is 33" and I weigh around 190. I have another inch to throw away and 10lbs, so I'm almost there. As yawl probably know, these last lbs and inches are hell to get rid of. I like to play the semantics game here and not use "Lose Weight" but "get rid of it, or throw it away, because when you lose something you tend to go around trying to find what you lost!!! Anyway, I just happened upon this site and am looking forward to finding some new recipes, and people to shout out. Hope to talk with you all / yawl, etc. Rick

Hi Rick!

I am new to this site also, and I LOVE it! I wish I had known about this my first go around with Atkins. There are some excellent recipes on here. Did you know all the things you can do with cauliflower?!

Anyway, welcome, and I am sure you will find this site as helpful as I have.
