Default a question for women

I have a question for all the women doing Atkins. I have noticed that since started LCing I haven't been suffering from pre-menstrual cramps, (except one time when I cheated and had a big piece of apple pie. It was worth it, but I paid for it.)

Has anyone else found this? I seem to do best at 20-30 grams a day around that time of the month. I was wondering if this is an individual reaction, or if it is more common. I don't remember Atkins mentioning it as one of the bonuses - if I were him I would trumpet it as a major plus!

Sharon

It has been mentioned around here that many women get less PMS, less water retention and cramps that aren't as bad. So it isn't unusual. How nice that it happened for you too.

Actually, I had been going MONTHS without a period at all while I was on low fat and had really bad cramps when I did get it . Now that I'm on Atkins, I have a regular cycle and no cramps except an occasional twinge!

I am less cranky at that time. That is a pretty big plus for me.

I also don't retain as much water. WAY less bloating.

TOM has definately been better. Last year I was getting real bad cramps. I was also the heaviest I ever had been.

I also take Dong Quai... the best PMS herbal supplement. When I take it religously, I don;t even know that TOM has paid a visit!
