Default what is the average weight you lost on induction

Hi All

I have just finished the two week induction. I have lost 4 pounds and no inches. I have only lost one pound in the second week. But my Ketostix are reading high. Now I'm left wondering if I have a thyroid problem, yeast or should be taking major supplements.

I followed the rules to induction. Anybody out there experience or is experiencing similar results. If so what are you're conclusions? I will admit that I do consume a mug of coffee each aM. and what is the verdict on the Atkins Advantage bars. Looking forward to your replies

Default I was happy!

I just finished my two weeks of induction on Sunday. I lost 8.5 pounds and also at least 1 inch in each area (bust, waist, and hips). I followed the plan without cheating, and only gave into my diet coke habit at the end of the second week.

I'm not counting strictly every carb, but I know I'm not eating many still. I'm sticking with the same foods for now. I have added nuts (bought a big bag of almonds yesterday for snacking).

Keep up your great work!
Stefanie

Thumbs up Relax

Actually, I've often seen it posted that you shouldn't expect to lose more than 10% of the total amount you want to lose during induction. By that measurement, you've lost twice as much as one would expect!

You haven't got so far to go (comparatively speaking, you may feel otherwise ), so the weight isn't going to drop off you like it would if you had to lose a whole lot.

This is one of those YMMV things, many people have had different results. Drink water, eat your veggies and be patient - you're doing fine.

As for the Atkins bars, some people (myself included) find they stall your weight loss, others don't seem to be affected by them. I avoid them like the plague.

Again, a YMMV thing.

Doris,

Your stix should not be dark puple all the time. This is an idication that you are dehydrated. As long as there is some change on the stix, yes even just a trace, you are still in ketosis. I wish that I could remember where I read it and who wrote it so that I could give them credit but I once read "ketosis is like being pregnant, either you are or your not.... you can't just be a little pregnant and you can't just be in a little ketosis".

As far as your weight loss goes I think you should be proud of what you have lost and I wouldn't try to compare your losses to others. The reason I say that is my wife and I had both began this WOL and she was so discouraged when she lost half of what I had on induction. What she didn't consider is that she has half as much to loose. So I guess what I'm trying to say is as long as you are loosing weight or inches your doing great.

Keep it up and good luck.

Dennis

Ive been on the induction diet about 3 weeks I will probably stay on it a few more becuse i have alot of weight to lose. But in my first two weeks according to my scales i lost 17 pounds, I don't really trust my scales because Ive lost so much so quickly but im going to the doctor 1st week in feb. so hopefully i can confirm. I've been taking double the amount of supplements recommended in the book I also take afew more that I read about in the Dr Atkins age defying diet although im only 22 I found alot of good information about supplements in there. Before i started the diet I was also completely inactive now I walk atleast an hour everyday and drink about 3 litres of water aday. Also Ive been drinking soy protien shakes they only have 7 carbs and they are a good meal replacement for me and they taste good(suprisingly).
Anyway i think you should look into the supplements becuase they seem to be workin for me and if you would like to try a free sample of the soy shakes you can get one here www.revivalsoy.com if you do get a free sample I recommend either the strawberry or the chocolate

Good Luck!
