Unhappy Leg Cramps

I read a lot of posts about leg cramps, so I began taking potassium, magnesium and calcium. The first night I felt cramps, I took the above mentioned supplements, and also took some ibuprofen. My legs were fine. The next night, since I didn't know if the ibuprofen helped my legs or the supplements, I took just the supplements. My legs hurt soooo bad, I finally took some ibuprofen at 3:00 a.m.!!! That helped so I could at least get some sleep. The next night I made sure I took ibuprofen, and all was fine.

My question is, is it okay to take ibuprofen? The supplements didn't seem to help, but maybe I need to give them awhile to get into my system? I do drink plenty of water. My husband is following Atkins as well and doesn't have any problem with leg cramps, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!! Any suggestions??

Pam

If the ibuprofen helps, then go ahead and take it. The supplements may be helping too but might take a few days longer. The ibuprofen may make you lose a bit slower (water retention) but being out of pain will help keep you on the plan.

Keep taking your potassium and cal-mag supplements in addition to a multivitamin. Make doubly sure you're getting enough water... let's say at least 80 oz. It's ok to take the ibuprofen, but no longer than absolutely necessary....that stuff is not good for your digestive system!

Let us know how you are in the next day or two, ok?

Default No More Cramps!!

Glad to report I have no more cramps!! I am not taking ibuprofen, just the cal,mag & potassium (among others). I guess it did take awhile to get into my system, but I am soooo glad I can finally sleep through the night!! Thank you all for your advice, suggestions and support!!
