Default Q: about higher carb veg.

I have just speedily read CAD ( and dont worry I am going back to read it properly !.... but in the meantime.....)
the starchier veg. ie brussels sprouts, carrot and parsnip. When approximating my meals into 1/3 rds , do I count these in as carb or veg thanks !

The Hellers specify 1/3 carbohydrate rich foods and therefore you have to count them as your carb portion. Seems like a waste doesn't it.

It kind of seems like a waste, but I've noticed after almost three weeks, that sometimes I really just don't feel like having the super high carbs. I'm mostly continuing with "forbidden" foods, that I've not been able to have on low fat diets.

Anyways, I'm sure you'll start wanting fruits/high carb veges in your RM soon!

no, no, no no....... not a waste at all ! call me mad, some people crave chocolate..... with me, its parsnips LOL.

OK, next challenge...... if I choose carrot, p'snip, sprout for my carbs, will 1 salad balance it out.... or do I need green veg to balance it ?

apologies for the obvious Q's but my CAD doesnt go into that side of things.
thanks plum, 2nd day CAD

You probably need another veg. Don't obsess too much about it though. It depends on your particular body chemistry. Some need balance, some can have slightly unbalanced.

CAD/CALP has to become based on each person's particular body chemistry, reactions and needs. Start listening to your body. I bet you've never done that before, have you?
