Betty,
That was an amazing web site. Did you happen to read her weight loss tips? She had this statement:
Quote:
I had no idea that the weight would come off so fast, and I’d lose 100 pounds in 4 months and 21 days!
I had to laugh because I just complained about the weight coming off so slowly. Oh well, that just means my body will get used to be skinny a little at a time.

Thumbs up How she did so well: No calorie counting!

A copy of her menu from her web site:
Breakfast: two boiled eggs, or egg salad with lettuce, or ½ cup cottage cheese with 4 strawberries and a pkg of splenda, or an omlette with salmon & cheese or spinach & mushrooms.
Lunch: Usually a Taco salad with ranch. (if you make uncle Dan’s ranch dressing, you can make it with heavy cream and mayo instead of buttermilk and mayo, lots less carbs) or two hard-boiled eggs, or some lunchmeat and cheese sticks.
Dinner: Usually Chicken, steak, porkchop (any meat) and asparagus, green beans, or spinach.
Rarely I have legal treats.
If I snack, it’s on pork rinds, or pepperoni sticks.

There is no way this amazing lady was following the ridiculous 'guideline' of consuming 10-12 times her body weight in calories. This internet myth/'guideline' is the downfall of more LC dieters than any other bizarre ideas that are out there.

The success of the LCer is clearly directly related to eating extremely LOW CARB and not giving a hoot about 'hitting a calorie high!' Anyone who is having trouble losing weight on a low carb needs to STOP counting calories!!! Normal weight people and people who succeed at LC lifestyles do not ever, ever need to gorge themselves to achieve a calorie 'high.' A metabolism is not 'cured' by eating MORE calories. A metabolism will not go into starvation mode for weeks, or even months, at a low calorie intake. Please take note of how the woman here has achieved her goals: low carb, an exercise/activity level that suits her body and NO CALORIE COUNTING! I love it! Stop counting calories: either up or down. Counting calories puts you right back on a dreaded DIET and counting to get calories UP is certain to make you FAT
