Default Is it possible to lose more with more carbs?

I am not sure this theory could be correct or not. I have been on twenty carbs or less for more than a month now and have had "spirts" of weight loss....a couple pounds one time..four pounds another time. Yesterday I ate over my normal twenty. I had forty total after I plugged it into fitday. My ration was still good with 72 fat 21 protein and 7 carbs. My total calories were 2317 but I lost 3 more pounds. My question is....is it possible that for me eating more carbs might mean my body would let go of some more fat quicker? (Kinda using the same theory as the calories...if you eat too few then your body goes into "starvation mode")

Personally, I think it's a good thing to alter your carb levels up and down.... your body will adapt to any plan if you stay on it long enough. Going up to 40 carbs for a while is fine.... when the weight loss slows down, you may want to go back down to 20 again. When it slows down, go up to 60....then back to 20. Why not? Play around. See what works for you!

It is very possible, even likely, that occasionally loading up on carbs for a short period of time will help lessen the frequency and duration of stalls and plateaus. There is a growing body of evidence to support not only that this is the case, but to explain the physiological mechanisms for it.

However, the experience you had is no grounds for basing anything on - not yet. If you had eaten half the carbs you normally eat that day you almost certainly would have still lost the same three pounds. Your body simply can't respond to anything that quickly that strongly.

You need to consistently use a pattern for many months and see what that pattern results in for you.
