Question Should I change my diet now Im excercising?

I have been low carbing for a year now and in the last month I have really ramped up my excercise. I went from 1 x swim a week to 3 x gym +1x swim a week.

I feel great and I am really enjoying. I am mostly sticking to cardio (bike & power walking), but I add 20x reps on cruncher , rotator torso and weights. My aim is not to get too muscular, because I don't want to get too masculine....

Since this excercise I have gained a pound, which I can feel is muscle, so even though its a bit disappointing, I know I am gaining because of the workouts. But what I would like to know is if anyone can give me some advise about my eating.

I have been eating between 20-25 carbs a day from a long time - do i need to increase my carbs to compliment my new excercise regime? Will it benefit it anyway? Should I increase my protein?

I want maximise my weight lose, minimise my muscle gain, get healthy, feel great ( not much, huh?!!).

Can I tweek anything to help myself?

when you do more exercising throughout the week, your muscles will (temporarily) bulk up by increasing the water they retain. So, your weight may go up, even though the amount of stored fat will go down. make sure you continue to drink water at the same high rate even though it may add more water weight. some folks your size will put on 5 or 6 extra pounds of water through this effect. (in the process, you may be losing 2 or 3 pounds of fat)

if you are not tearing down muscle (by weight training or overexertion of muscles) then you will not need to increase your protein (assuming you got enough to start with).

building muscle will (in the long run) be better for you, as this will increase the rate you burn energy. In the short run it will cut your weight loss rate.

good luck.
