Smile pumpkin seeds

Does anyone know what the carb difference is between pumpkin seeds in the shell and pumpkin seeds shelled? I'm not sure if I should be eating them with the shell on or not.

By the way I just went a little crazy - I kind of went on an eating binge with the pumpkin seeds with the shells on. I hope this doesn't make me gain? I have been so good! (All of a sudden I just want to eat, eat, eat!)

Default Re: Pumpkin seeds

Hi Lorraine-
I asked a similar question a few months ago when I found that pumpkin seeds were a fairly low carb salty snack. The opinion of a few people on the board was that the shell/hull would be all fiber and therefore deducted from any carb count because it is not digestible (at least that was my understanding of their answers). I eat them on a pretty regular basis and find them to be a really good munching snack. I think you can go ahead and enjoy!
Karen
p.s. I also eat them with the shell on. At first I tried getting them out of the shell but it's much harder than shelling a sunflower seed and I kind of like them with the hull anyway...
