Exclamation Fitday and Fiber!!!

At the advice of so many LCers I decided to start using fitday.com. I put in my foods for the day, and I come up with more carbs then I thought I had!!!!

Does fitday take fiber into consideration for the net of carbs? (eg: A food is 5 carbs but 3 are fiber so your net is only 2)

I think fitday will really help me out in LCing!!!

Thanks for your input!!

BTW- I take 2 Psyllium Husk Pills that are 500mg each. (1,000 for the day)

Help??

Ruby, fitday will take into account the fiber number. You will see the carbs for the day and the fiber for the day both listed. The total of calories from carbs will be from the 'effective carb count' though. For example, if you had 25g of carbs listed and 9g of fiber the number for 'calories from carbs' would be 16g x 4 (there are 4 calories in every gram of carbohydrate) for a total of 64 calories. If fitday did not subtract the fiber for you the number would be 25g x 4 equalling 100g.
