Question Oldie with a newbie question!

My sister has recently started the Adkins induction. She has opted to try this rather than weight loss surgery. She weighs around 250 or so, I'm not quite sure. Anyway she had a 5 egg omelet for dinner and was wondering if that was too many eggs? She hadn't had breakfast that day (slept too late) and had a salad for lunch. She is referring to the Adkins books where is states you can eat those listed foods on liberal levals. It also states that you are not on a quantitative diet and should adjust quantity to your appetite. Now our Mom is lecturing her about the eggs. Something she really doesn't need right now as she is trying so hard. Any advice?

Have some bacon with those eggs And get mom to read the book.

The book says "Eat liberally of combinations of fat and protein in the form of poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs and red meat, as well as pure, natural fat in the form of butter, mayonnaise, olive oil, safflower, sunflower and other vegetable oils (preferably expeller-pressed or cold-pressed)."

Regardless of what the book says, I count eggs as 1 carb (they are .6 each whole and you round up).

This is so strange because on Fitday.com when I enter 1 or 2 eggs the count is 1 carb per egg but when I go to 3 eggs it stays at 2 carbs. I believe she had some cheese with her eggs. It just got late and she did the quickest solution not to overeat. I told her not to worry about it and just stick to what the plan says.

It is fine to do that, her body will adjust to where she doesn't need that much to fill her up, tell her she has nothing to worry about.
