Wink Feeling "Puffy"

Today is day 5 for me on Induction and I feel like a big ole' blowfish!

I must be retaining water, but don't know why. My mother stated yesterday that my eyes were puffy, and I feel that my wedding rings are snugger than usual.

I will start up my food journal again, but do not recall eating anything with excessive sodium amounts.

Then again, is has been 80 degrees or warmer here for the past few days.

I will track the sodium content closer, but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions so I can bring myself out this "blowfish" feeling?

Hi Netty,

How much water are you drinking? Although it sounds odd, the best way to get rid of the water you are retaining is to drink more! When you are at all dehydrated, the body tends to hang on to all it can.
As a minimum, you need 64oz plus another 8oz for every extra 25 pounds you want to lose.
Or, ½ your weight in ounces.
I would suggest that if the weather is hot and humid, you include an extra couple of glasses to make up for any "glowing."
(You know the old saying: horses sweat, gentlemen perspire, ladies glow. )

Netty.....

It's just started to get hot here and I've noticed that on the hot days.....I'm retaining fluids, in spite of the 5-6 liters of water I drink in a day. Solution.....more water....and wait out the heat wave!

Default puffy eyes

You know, when you mentioned the difference in your eyes... it hit me because I have tried this diet before and my friend kept saying my eyes were red and they felt like they were bugging out. When I stopped the diet, that went away. (That was three years ago.)

Now I am in about the 4th day of induction again and today I noticed the same thing about the feeling in my eyes. I am trying to drink a lot of water and trying to wean off the diet coke. i have had two diet cokes today, 1 was cafeine free. I have had about a liter of water already and it is only just after lunch.

Does anyone know about the eye thing?
