Question how much does a blood test cost?

I plan to comparison shop at a few hospitals in the area to get a blood test for my cholesterol (ldl & hdl), blood sugar, triglycerides, etc.

But my rent is coming up so I wonder if anyone has a general idea of how much a test will cost. (I don't have insurance)
...AND if there may be a cheaper alternative.

thanky!

Great question...but rats, robin, I don't have a receipt for my 2001 cholesterol. Here are some figures I do have for this year's tests--funds are in US dollars

Blood drawing fee == $12.50
Free T4 -- $23
TSH, third gen -- $38
T3 -- $35
FSH & LH -- $87 (good gods!)

I'd guess based on this that I got charged last year for total cholesterol, every component, triglycerides, blood sugar, all seperately....good thing I had better insurance last year!

I hope someone else will post with more info.
