Unhappy hair loss, calcium, editing profile page

Hi
I'm just full of questions this morning--hope you don't mind--I was reading a post and they mentioned that there was a post on hair loss somewhere--I just wondered if anybody knew where it was--she was talking about eating only meat and her hair fell out--I too am losing hair and don't know if it is just menopause or what but it is worrying.

AND I am getting cramps in my legs and pains in teeth, which I have been told are a symptom of calcium imbalance--I've been told that drinking a lot of water and eating a lot of protein leaches calcium out of your body, so I am concerned at these symptoms. I was wondering if Atkins supplements were available in England. I have given up trying to order things from the states, they just get stolen in the mail--it has happened three times this year to me and am fed up with getting ripped off.

AND how do I edit my profile page--I'd like to change my weight as I HAVE LOST I HAVE LOST IHAVE LOST!! and also want to add more LC books that I've read since I started. I'm pretty computer-challenged at the best of times.

ALSO where do you get those CUTE CUTE CUTE little dancing men and stuff--I'd like some for my posts.

I'll shut up now.....and THANKS LOADS for your help!!!
Kae

Okeydokey Kae, I'll see if I can help.
1.) Hair loss - have a look here
2.)Leg cramps - check out here for leg cramps
3.) To edit your profile page: go to "profile" at the top of the page, then hit "edit profile" and Bob's your uncle.
4.) By cute dancing men, do you mean smilies, such as and ?
If you do, that's really easy. When you are posting, if you look at the left side of the "posting box" there they all are. You simply click your mouse on what you want.

By the way, the answers to many of these questions can be found in Karen's "Hot links" at the top of this thread.

Cheers Kae.

This is a myth. In fact recent studies show that eating protein will increase bone density, and specifically animal protein. Another study showed that protein increased bone density but only when calcium was also supplemented (however, the same study showed that protein consumed alone did NOT cause calcium loss from bone, it simply had no effect at all). You can read about those studies here: High-Protein Diet Won't Weaken Your Bones.

Many persons who have been following a previous diet that was full of cereal, breads and the like often have low calcium levels. Wheat bran and other grains contain phytates which interfere with calcium absorption from the intestines.
