Smile New to forum.....advice on starting

I think this forum is great.......I'm one of those who has debated on the low carb program for quite a while. My friend has lost over 60 pounds on the Adkins diet and I am so proud of her sucess.it has just been hard for me convincing myself that I can change my way of eating on a permanent basis. I would appreciate any advice and would love to buddy up with anyone who is also commiting to this program. I am 38 years old , two kids (one in college , the other in high school) love antiques, reading and have work as a customer service rep for a large company.

Welcome to the forum, hoosiergal

Right now information is power, get as much as you can. There are some wonderful articles under Low Carb Tips - located at the top of every page in orange highlight. Crusing the boards and checking out what others are eating in the Bootcamp section is another good move - it really helps to see what kinds of foods and how much you should be eating (how much is 10 - 12 times your body weight a day in calories, minimum).

LCing works wonders for your health - the fat loss is just one such example. Give it a few weeks and you'll see what I mean.

Best of luck to you!
Nat

Default welcome!!

ya know being such a carb junkie I wondered if I could make this change for life. Now im not a seasoned low-carber...but I have been in maintainence for 4 months [started Atkins April 2nd 2001] and I am surprized at how satisfied I am with the way I eat. Good luck to U!!
