Default Starting CAD again

I tried CAD before but always found myself messing up on the reward meal.
So can someone tell me if this is correct.
Start with 2 cups salad
Then equal portions of veggies, starch, meat, fruit, dairy.
Well how do you fit a piece of chocolate or cake in?
Is it a starch replacement?
I need to learn how to balance those reward meals.

Default Hi Fresh

I definitely recommend that you read the book, or at least have the cheat sheets handy when planning your meals.

The reward meal can start with salad , it is a good idea but not absolutely required in all the plans. Then the rest of the meal is 1/3 protein, 1/3 low-carb veggies (same ones you are allowed to eat the rest of the day) and 1/3 carb-heavy foods. The carb-heavy third includes things like your fruits, desserts, starchy foods like breads and pastas. Dairy is a bit tricky, some dairy foods can count as protein, some have to be included in the carb portion. Chocolate cake would be counted as your carb 1/3, so for that meal you would want to go easy on other carb-heavy foods to get that balance in there.

Good luck!
Tracy

I know when I first started cad I didn't really balance. But I did keep carbs out of my cm's. As the book says 1/3 protein, veggie and carb. I add more protein if I want more carb. Veggies have carbs too so be careful if eating carby veggies...I would count those as my carb too.
I have about the same amount of weight to lose as you. Hopefully we can get this done! It is a great plan!

Well I found my book horray!!!!
Now the book says 3-4 oz protein per CM
Plus low carb veggies
So this is for two meals a day.

Then if I take my dinner plate and divide it by 1/3 meat, 1/3 lowcarb veggies and the last third a mixture of (fruit, starch, dessert, whatever) Does this sound right?

By the way what is a cheat sheet? The book I have does not have any charts in it except to keep track of your weight. I have the paper backed version . It has all the foods listed that I am allowed to eat and the different progressions of CAD but that is it.

And remember you don't need 2 cm's everyday for every week...they have the Plan A B C etc. and you choose which plan to go onto next based on the amount of weight you lost the previous month and also based on how much you want to lose the next week. I had not done it strictly before but am now. How are you enjoying cad so far?
