Default Do something extra special for yourself and family on Sunday Nov 18

I apologize for this being a wee tad off topic, but this is a once in a lifetime thing and some folks may be so wrapped up in dealing with life that they don't know this spectacluar event is going to happen...

On Sunday Nov 18 between the wee morning hours of 4am-6am eastern time, 1am-3am pacific time, the Leonoid meteor shower will be visible in the eastern skies. This will not happen again in our lifetime. At its peak, you can expect to see as many as 30 shooting stars a minute!!!

Plan a special early morning family yard party, and arm yourself with a wagon load of wishes for all those shooting stars.

We're planning hot chocolate (made with Fry's cocoa powder and real milk) and topped off with dollups of whipped cream.

Thank you for posting this.

You're not going to believe this but dh and I were up THIS morning looking for the meteor showers.

Gotta love our inability to read a calendar.

We haven't missed it after all.

We're heading to the outskirts of the city tonight around midnight to watch; the other half is heading back around 3 a.m. to see it at it's peak. Thank heavens I have BFL as an excuse

Nat

Well Angela -

I was up at 5:00 and the radio said they were at their peak between 5-5:30 and were they ever right. It was like a shower out there and mild too. Bundled in blankets and laying on the benches on the deck. Ever cool. Family on the west coast were out at 2:00a.m. their time to see it.

Came back in and slept in till 7:30

Nat - you were out early on in the show, did you get to see any? Nat, Nat, It's 8:00 are you awake yet?? LOL
