Default HUGE mistake

I just made cheesecake, and now realized I accidentally bought REGULAR gelatin instead of sugar free. So the cheesecake I was eating- full of SUGAR. I feel terrible, that I wasted all of that time, and ruined my diet today for nothing.

There are no mistakes but opportnities for learning. Ask me about caffeine free cola with sugar instead of diet. I drank nearly a case of the stuff befofe I figured out why I was feeling so lousy. It happens to the best of us - we live and learn dust ourselves off and carry on with the programme. Don't sweat it, it was an accident.

You didn't "ruin" anything! Don't be so hard on yourself, seriously. It's alright, you can back on track tomorrow. Having some sugar will NOT kill you. It's more of a guilt thing, and only you can choose what makes you feel guilty, so don't let it make you feel guilty! Just look at the progress you've made so far, and smile.

Caligirl you did not ruin your diet. You made one mistake. I've made several on this woe. Yours wasn't even an intentional one. Toss the rest of the cheesecake out, and immediately--not tomorrow but now-- eat clean. I honestly think that the reason I have failed in the past was because it was an all or nothing thing for me. If I ate one thing that wasn't on the plan I was on I just threw up my hands and said screw it I failed I'll start fresh tomorrow. Only that tomorrow never came and I ended up gaining 30 more pounds before I found Atkins. You've lost 20 pounds so I know you know what your doing. There is a tendency to want to beat oneself up for a misstep I know but really that kind of thing will only hurt you. If you want some friendly advice do this. Act like it never happened and move on.

Gabrielle

don't feel bad, chickie...the other day I ate a bunch of cashews not realising they were so high in carbs...

I think the counter listed them at something like 23 grams per 100 grams....I was devastated, thinking I had found something I could snack on.

but this isn't your fault, mistakes are made. You'll pull yourself back up in no time.

I'm going to add a new thread devoted to cashews
*blushes*

Don't be so hard on yourself we all make mistakes. Heck, the other day I grabbed my glass of water and took a big drink only to find out it was my sons apple juice. Things happen, so move on and forgive yourself for an accidental mishap!

Don't let this get you down. It was an honest mistake. We have all made our share of mistakes. I bought some caffine free Sunkist orange soda. After one can I realized my mistake. There was a lot of sugar in it. I think I would have rather had the caffine than the sugar.

Inanna, thanks for the advice on the cashews!

My first week on induction I drank tons of tonic water, not realizing there was sugar in that either.

Thanks for the support everyone!
