Default Ben and Jerrys

I just got some Ben and Jerrys low carb ice cream. They actually list out all the carbs, including the sugar alcohols! Hopefully other companies will follow their lead and be honest on their labels too.

On a sad note, I ate half the container, which is 16 g of carbs including the sugar alcohols.

I've been eyeing the LC Ben and Jerry's for quite sometime myself. But i KNOW i would not be able to stop at a 1/2 cup serving so I don't let myself buy it. I'd either eat the whole thing or pick out all the brownie and cookie dough pieces and telling myself that the tiny peices don't constitute a serving so I was ok.

I find it much better to stick to LC ice cream bars when you need that cold creamy fix. It's all about the portion control. I like to know I just ate 100 cals and 3 carbs for SURE, than guestimating a 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp plus an extra bite, etc.

LeCarb offers ice cream that comes in individual-sized 1/2 cup servings (i think you get a bag of 6 for about $5). I thought that was a great idea and I hope more ice cream brands start doing it. That way you know exactly how many servings you've had.

People - its not just about the carbs - calorie counting is important too, when you eat half a tub, your also consuming hundreds and hundreds of fat colories - low carb or not, its certainly not going to aid your weight loss!

While it was delicious, it was addicting and stalled me I just can't have sugar alcohols.

I just tried the Ben And Jerry's CaRb KaRmA - half baked today.

I wasn't impressed at all. Maybe it's because I've had the original Half baked and that was ok and my favourite Ben and Jerry's is Fudge Central..LOL But it was just boring. It was very plain. And not chocolately at all. Just BLAH. I couldn't even finish the container if I wanted. (but maybe that's a good thing?)

It also gave me an insulin rush after a few small spoonfuls. One of the main ingredients is "Wheat Flour"; that's probably what did it.

So no, won't be buying this ever again. If I'm going to buy low carb icecream, I'll probably stick with Atkins Endulge.

KetoOwnsMe - I totally agree about the Carb Karma Half-Baked. I tried it this weekend. Bleh.

I love the LC Breyers ice cream and can go through a tub in a couple of days, which is why I decided to try B&J's, since it came in a smaller container. Smaller container = smaller amount of damage. Let me tell you, that was first time I ever stopped eating any ice cream after one 1/2 cup serving. It was a real disappointment. I'm going to take this as my cue to stay away from LC ice cream completely for a while.

I just started low-carbing this week and have been giving this diet very serious reconsideration simply because I find many of the dessert low carb products out there to taste like plastic. However, I bought this product yesterday and was impressed. I will definitely be purchasing this again!
But as others pointed out, be careful because it does have a lot of calories. 160 calories per serving (4 serivings for the pint).

I am staying away from any ice cream, since I would go crazy if I had it! I would become addicted to it, like all the other LC Candies!!! O-Goodness!!
