Default Does ketosis always = weight loss?

I have been in ketosis for the last 5-6 days and have not dropped any weight. IS this normal, or could I possibly have a bad batch of strips? The are only changing a small amount, but if there is any change its positive, right?

Well, i'm sure you have heard this before but mini-stalls are quite common. If your sticks are any sort of color at all that means you are literally peeing away stored fat. It might take a couple more days for the scale to move, but it is worth it. If I drink tons of water and do some light excersizing my strips turn dark purple. Also, if you don't have a lot of weight to drop, it takes a little longer for your body to let go of pounds so just wait!! Good luck

http://www.ecybex.com/education/cal...s/bmr_calc.html
Dixie, Here is a good article on BMR. Also, for any "diet" to work you need to create a caloric deficit. Calculate your BMR and multiply by your Activity level to get your real BMR. Cut your calories 10-15% of the calculated rate.
If you cut more than 15% your body will go into starvation mode and try to hold onto everything.
Ketones are to fat as charcoal is to wood. Drink lots of water and flush them out. If you don't flush them out you can use them later as fuel. I know you are working out so your Multiplier for BMR will probably be 1.5 or 1.6.
Hope that helps.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Actually showing ketones is not equal to losing weight. A person can actually be in Ketosis / Liposis (body burning fat instead of carbs) and gain weight. If your calories are above your BMR you can gain weight and be in ketosis!
Ketones, and Keto StiX, Ketones are a By-product of Liposis (burning fat) See charcoal analagy above. Keto stix measure
"excess" ketones in your urine. You don't have to show on a keto stix to actually be in Keto/liposis. Some people who workout alot actually burn the ketones and don't have "excess" in their urine. I do CKD and it takes me 2.5 - 3 days to show on the stix. I don't worry about the sticks because I can "feel when I am in Ketosis.
Keep your calories 10-15 % below Adjusted BMR and stay away from Franken foods, exercise regularly and you will lose weight.

Will i loss weight more weight if a eat 3000 calories a day(w/o carbs and sugars) than if i eat 1200?

I have never left Ketosis since I started this WOL and there have been plenty of times that I am not losing any weight and I drink atleast 3 litres of water a day so I should be flushing it out but it doesn't always work that way...unfortunately...I am off to check out that website though...good information.
