Default My 1 year anniversary....

Today I have been on Atkins for one year. I've lost 61 lbs. I feel wonderful physically. Mentally I'm a little down because I hoped to be to 150 by today. Actually...I had originally hoped to be at goal after a year. But I'm trying to be happy about how far I've come....because I HAVE come a LONG LONG way.

I'm finishing up climbing the carb ladder and am going to attempt not being so focused on the woe now...trying to really integrate my new level of carbs/foods into my life without stressing. I'm also going to attempt to not be so focused on the scale...though I know that will be very hard for me right now. But I can't imagine stepping on the scale EVERY morning for the rest of my life.

I figure it will take months for me to get to pre-maintenance (135) and I'm trying to be okay with that. I guess I'm really trying to focus mentally on this being a way of life and not just on my weight loss.

I am still journaling and using fitday every day, but I have not been spending as much time on this website. I think spending so much time here keeps me focused on losing weight...which is as it should be, but I need to be at a different place right now.

I love this website and all the people I've met and all the encouragement and advice. And I thank every one of you. I thank the moderators and the people who keep this site going. This is an awesome place for an awesome woe and it has helped me immeasurably.

to all of you!!!

Congrats on your success. My anniversary will be June 2 and would be estatic if I got to 61lbs loss for the year. But even if its only 53lbs its wonderful to be 53lbs down rather than up.
I'm so happy for your success and wish U luck with your goals.

Congratulations!!!!

You have indeed come a long way! You know, the longer time it takes to lose the higher are the chances that you will maintain. I see you are patient and strong - that is a guarantee of success......

Happy for you......

Thank you all! I appreciate all the support and encouragement.

I also wanted to update that this morning I weighed in at 150.5! Kind of shocked and surprised...but glad.

Missing 150 by .5 lbs. is nothing to be discouraged about. You have truly come along way... Tomorrow, you'll probably be right there..

WTG Freckles. I know you've worked hard and you should jump up and down.. You have a LOT to be proud of!
