Default are fajitas ok?

I am curious if my lunch has just ruined my induction. I had fajitas, no totillas, but I did have some onions and guacomole. Does anyone know how many carbs are in guacamole. I have also started drinking diet dr. pepper occasionally between waters. Is this going to mess me up. Thanks for any input.

Diet soda that's aspartame sweetened hasn't caused problems for me, (besides that the sweetener is bad for you), but many people will tell you otherwise. It has no calories, so you should be okay. If yougot your food at a restaurant of some sort, the meat may have had sugar added. Most restaurants use sugar as a meat tenderizer. Most probably not enough to mess you up, though. I'm also wary of guacamole I don't know the ingredients of. You can never be sure what's in it; there isn't a set rule of how to make it, so the recipe varies widely.

Most guacamole served in restaurants is fairly the same recipe I've found. It has a little bit of sugar in it, but not a lot. Carb count is generally around 4 per quarter cup (that's whole carbs), then deduct the fiber count (avocadoes are really high in fiber) is 2.85 per 1/4 cup. Occasionally you may find tomato, onion and/or sour cream in the guacamole, and those will bring down fiber content somewhat.

As mentioned, some do better with drinks with NutraSweet than others. I would limit it to no more than one 12-ounce can a day, and just see how it affects your body. My husband drinks caffeine-free Diet Coke and hasn't had any problems. I prefer DietRite, but that's my taste preference and has been for years--since I decided I was going to give up NutraSweet, LOL.

thanks. I feel a lot better now hearing that. It just seems so hard to know what is ok at a restaurant because there are no labels to look at.

When I go to have fajita's I tell them I'm on Atkins and ask that "instead of" beans, tortillas, and pico d'gio(sp) can they bring me lettuce, guacamole, and shredded cheese. If I ask this way, I usually get what I need AND don't get charged extra for the guacamole or shredded cheese.

Yummm...a good meal, LC....just STAY AWAY FROM THE CHIPS..

Go to Chili's and ask for Bib lettuce to wrap your Fajita's in. Their great. Hold the rice and beans
