Default Jumping back on the wagon....

Hi all,

I introduced myself in the intro forum, but I'll give a little background here too:

Started Atkins in May 2003 - lost 30 pounds (stayed pretty much on induction for 3 months) and due to many circumstances, have been on and off the wagon ever since.

My girlfriend and I are following it together - we keep each other on the straight and narrow! We're starting over this week - day 2 of "Induction" for us here.....

My question is this: is it best to stay STRICT on induction? I figure that even 30g per day is WAY better than the thousands of grams I had been eating per day - kwim?

Any input would be helpful......thanks!

Kellie

Its best to keep it very strict on induction, otherwise you may not go deep into ketosis.

Its not hard to stick to ~15 carbs per day and its only for 2 weeks

Induction is 20grams, and yes, for the best success stay on strict induction with whole foods, and no junk food (ie lc treats, bars etc.)

Part of Induction and being strict is knocking your body into Ketosis and then gradually adding back in carbs as you enter OWL and the other phases. If you initially start with 30 carbs, you won't get that kick start and starting without being strict will only lead to more slip-ups in the future.
