Default Hello, hola, aloha...newbie intro

Just the facts.

I'm a 23 year old network administrator from Milwaukee, WI. I've always been 'the fat kid' and am finally doing something about it. My New Year's resolution was to lose 60lbs before the next New Year.

On February 9th I begain the Atkins diet after having read about it, in detail, for 6 weeks. Since then I have lost 40lbs on the Atkins diet. I started at 303lbs and am now at 263.

In addition to the diet, I have been working out extensively every day.

My daily schedule is:

6:00am - 30min exercycle
5:00pm - Weight Training or Boxing Training (alternates by day)
8:00pm - 30min exercycle

This appears to be a very active forum and I hope I can add my input as well as get some of my own questions answered.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, the exercising seems to be the difference for me.

I tried the 'Body for Life' diet last year, lost 32lbs, but then gained back 35. It really wasn't the fault of the diet, I stopped working out and lost focus. I was only working out 20min/day to begin with, so you start missing a couple days and you're right back to a sedetary lifestyle.

Above all things, I've made sure to stick to my exercise schedule, because that was my downfall last time.

Hi and welcome to the forum!!

Way to go on the weight loss so far!!!! That is awesome!!!
I agree with Lily exercise is the key....

I started a few days after you and you have gotten much farther
than me...I have lost 16 lbs. And I just started exercising.
Only now am I seeing the biggest change. So keep up the great
work!! You are in the perfect place for support and motivation.

Start a journal so you have "your place" and we can all say hi and
check in with each other.

Hugs~
