Default taco shell question

I just tried this taco shell idea of nuking cheese in the microwave and I'm very excited about it. However the cheese taste is too overpowering to me. I would like to keep the crustiness taco shell likeness but maybe have it be milder or blander. Anyone found a different cheese to work this? I used the mexican mix of cheddar and monterey jack. I think I've just od'd on cheese lately.

Mix it half and half with shredded Parmesean, just make sure you use shredded and not powdered stuff It really helps to make it milder.

I agree with the parmesan. It does help alot. I use the shredded, not the grated in a can. Yuck!

The way I learned to do it a long time ago was with mild cheddar.

Spray a small nonstick skillet with Pam. Put a small pile of cheddar in it and cook until it spreads out and bubbles. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn, but it will form a solid circle in the pan.
When crispy, remove from pan and curve into taco shell shape to cool.

It really is very good.

yes they are but they aren't low carb enough for me. The La tortilla ones still have a decent amount of carbs in them from what I've seen and unfortunately I can't do net carbs b/c I won't lose that way
