Water pills make you pee alot. They can also make you severly dehydrated and probably aren't needed on an LC diet whitch is a natural duretic.

A better way to reduce water retention is to watch sodium intake and drink tons of water. Basically if your body is continually getting a supply of water, it will be less likly to hang on to what it gets.

Water retention can cause discomfort and bloating. For some the slight rise inthe scale can send them into a panic (water weight does typically disapear though). I really wouldn't go for water pills though.

at 5'7" 110 pounds might put you at unhealthy as is. Have you read Atkins for Life? It may be more geared to your needs. It allows for more carbs and leeway. You might also get your body fat checked and go for a healthy body fat instead of a number on the scale.

Diuretics should only be used under the supervision of a doctor. They can seriously deplete your potassium levels, which in turn cause heart arrythemias and heart attacks.

The reason water retention is bad is it can make you several size bigger!!! I can have pants not fit one day and fit great the next due to water flucuations!! It is really important to get enough water so your body releases its water stores! That is my problem!!! It can make me look huge! Water is a big deal along with fat! That is why I am trying to improve on my water intake

My one experience with diuretics (otc) gave me horrible leg cramps! I chucked them. Drinking lots of water works better. Diuretics are for people with certain medical conditions, such as high blood pressure. They don't help with fat loss, I don't think.
