Default Ketosis Strips?

Should they turn like immediately purple?

My directions said wait 1 to 2 minutes to read it... but the thing turned immediately purple and stayed immediately purple. Felt a little cheated -- like maybe it just alwasy turns purple. LOL.

Other thing? I did it first thing in the morning---figuring then the food I eat wouldn't be tainting it. Is doing it with morning-pee skew the results?

Thanks!

If it's a dark purple, you could be dehydrated, so make sure you drink lots of water. Also, the best time to test is in the evening, after a days worth of eating. That way you can tell if something you've eaten during the day has thrown you out of ketosis. As long as it's ANY shade of pink, even light pink, you are in ketosis.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

Maybe I am dehydrated. I'm always thirsty in the morning and seems like sense I started this diet I"m having to urinate alot more frequently.

Strange but true.

Thanks again

CrispyWafe, I had the same questions not more than 2 weeks ago. I've made a habit of drinking between 200-250oz a day. It is maybe cheap of me but I reuse a 33.4 oz water container from the store. it's easy to measure and it's easy to carry *everywhere* I go.

Try to drink 80% of your water *between* meals. Otherwise if you try to drink 32oz of water during a meal it can stretch your stomach when including food and make you unneedingly hungry later.
