Default wheat protein vs whey protein

Is wheat protein powder same as whey protein powder? Is wheat protein powder same as wheat protein isolate? Is it same as vital wheat gluten?

Hi ianlin,

They're all very different things and behave differently in cooking so you can't substitute one for another.

Here's a FAQ on wheat protein isolate, Whey protein isolate is derived from dairy and gluten is the "muscle" of wheat. Here's a bit of info on gluten.

Karen

Thank you, Karen. I appreciate you taking the time. If I may ask a follow up question? I have read the links you provided, as well as the info on gluten in your sticky on this forum. I am still unclear as to the difference between gluten and wheat protein isolate. They both appears to be wheat protein.
