Default Ending cravings

How long does it take for the carb/bread/sweet cravings to end for most people. I am hopelessly adicted to breads and sweets. I need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm just seeing that you started this woe in Sept, is this right? Or have you re started? I'd think they would of been long gone if you've stuck to it all this time?
Have you had any low carb bread? IF you are in OWL there is nothing wrong with a slice now and then.

Cheers Kathy

I've been on and off this WOE and on and off WW for the past 6 years. I'll lose some with, sometimes 20 lbs and then cave in and go back to eating whatever. I think I need to do a strict hardcore Atkins induction for 14 days and stick to it, and hopefully I'll have some success.

I feel like this is the only area in my life that I can't control. Everywhere else I'm very succcessful.

My cravings disappeared by the end of Induction week 2, if I remember correctly. I stayed away from any LC junkfood as well (don't feed your cravings with SF crap. It will only prolong the detox period. And it won't give your tastebuds a chance to wean off sugary stuff.)

Chromium and/or L-Glutamine supplement might be of big help for you in order to stabilise your blood sugar dips and spikes meanwhile.

And drink lots of water. Thirst often masks itself as sugar cravings. Also, feed yourself fat and nutrient dense foods regularly in several smaller meals throughout the day. With a full belly and a steady bloodsugar you'll crave less.

Best of luck!

Um, that's actually L-Glutamine I think you were thinking of, Gili. L-Carnitine is another useful amino acid, but glutamine is the one that helps with sugar cravings.

Cheers.

Whoops. Well of course, Rosebud. I always write the wrong one.

I know what Carnitine is, used to take that one too...(helps boost metabolism and fatburning.) Dang L-somethings... L-Glutamine, L-Carnitine, L-Fenylalanine, L-Leucine, L-Valine...

I'll edit my post above immediately. Thankingtons!
