Default fresh pineapple?

i was told something odd recently, but by someone who i trust and is usually knowledgable. he said that fresh pineapple might be ok on this diet b/c the acidity in pineapple burns off or otherwise negates the amount of natural sugar in it. does anyone know if this is true, or what the net carbs of pineapple is? i know that the total carb count is about 19 carbs per cup.

Matt.

Citrius fruits can actually be very high GI. There is no such thing as the acid in apples or grape fruit burning off the fructose, sorry.

Atkins for life lists pinapple in the eat in moderation food group.
