Question Are there whooshes, or ketosis, on CAD?

I ask because I'm not sure. I've heard somewhere that CAD "tricks" your body into a ketogenic state, but the first few times I tried initially the keto sticks did not test purple (I haven't tried in a while).

Also, TOM is right around the corner for me, and my weight went back up 1/2 a pound...on Atkins I could usually count on a pound or two dropping off as soon as TOM started, do most of you experience any kind of "mini whoosh"? From the book I already expect that there are no major whooshes of multiple pounds, usually, since they want you to lose no more than 2lbs a week roughly...

Keto effect can happen to some people better than it happened to them on Atkins. Doesn't always though. And yes whooshes do happen on CAD. Some lose steadily and some can lose in whooshes, holding steady or losing by increments and then have a whoosh.

The "Whoosh Fairy" visits good little CAD'ers too...

After a long stall on Atkins (brought about largely by quitting smoking) I went on CAD, and after an initial 4-lb gain the first week or so, I experienced several bursts of rapid weight loss.

As for TOM, I've found I'm better off ignoring the scale for the duration, and start weigh-ins again a couple of days after it's done.

I think I had my first whoosh- I've been the same for 6 weeks, and now all of a sudden I've lost 5 lbs. Before the scale change, I had noticed my pants were loose. Is this a whoosh?

Thanks, Zuleikaa. I went to Cosco today, and on a lark tried on a pair of size 12 pants- and they fit. I think the last size 12 pants I wore was when I was also 12. I didn't get them- holding out for one that really fits right. I just can't belive I'm doing this well.

Hi Enomarb, and congrats! Great job!
I've only bought one pair of size 12's so far (and my first size 12's in MANY years, I might add)... Still trying to figure out a way to get the size tag to hang OUTSIDE the pants (for the world to see)...
Just keep trying on different brands--you'll find the perfect ones, I'm sure...
