Default Vietnamese food

HI,

Looking for help.....a friend invited me out for Vietnamese food - she said the place had good soup called Pho. I think there are noodles in it and even if I ignore the noodles I think some of the starch might have leaked out in the cooking process and be in the broth. Any ideas or thoughts on other kinds of Vietnamese food that might be okay?

Thanks for your help!

Sally

We went to a viatnamese resteraunt in Ft. Collins.

I had a seafood lemon grass soup that was wonderful. They also had create your own meal section where you choose the meat you wanted, then the sauce you wanted. I had duck extra spicy. I will admit to a small bite of my son's spring roll

Don't get the Viatnamese coffee. It is the best stuff in the world, but high carb necause it useses sweetened condensed milk (I thought it was just cream until I looked it up :P )

Thanks Ladybelle!

I feel much more cheerful about the lunch now. The food sounds great!
And thanks for the tip about the Vietnamese coffee - I'll stick to tea!

I personally haven't found any Vietnamese foods that I could have during induction.

In premaintenace I can do rice noodles (which are in PHO) without gaining.

They put sugar in a lot of their stuff including lemongrass meals (not sure about the soups but they all taste sweet to me now). Can you ask to go somewhere else where you won't feel deprived?

God works in mysterious ways. I went to the restaurant and ordered the seafood soup - I had just been able to eat the bits of seafood that were floating on the top when my cell phone rung - my daughter had been injured playing flag football in gym class at school - so I had to leave lunch and go and get her and take her to emerg. She is fine and - on the bright side - I didn't eat many carbs!

I will phone my friend and ask her about again and I will pick the place this time!

Thanks for all your help,

Sally

In a way it is a shame. There are some amazing Vietnamese dishes.

Later in your plan... try it.
