Default Q abt coffee

i had a quick question about coffee, Atkins web site says "Avoid coffee, tea and soft drinks that contain caffeine. Excessive caffeine has been shown to cause low blood sugar, which can make you crave sugar. " so is this the only reason ? i like to have 1 cup of coffee(black after i started Atkins diet this weekend) in the morning(helps me clear up my throat, else it is scratchy all day).

other that increasing the craving for sugar, does coffee have any other side effect ? i think i can control the craving for sugar, if that is the case can i still have my 1 cup of coffee in the morning ?

TIA,

If it doesn't bother you to have caffeine, enjoy! They can have my caffeine when they pry the cup from my trembling hands!!!!

Seriously, caffeine hasn't bothered me. It was the SWEETENER I put in it that was causing my problems before. (Anyway, caffeine is a staple ingredient in so-called "fat burners" or diet aides...even Atkins Accel!)

I've been drinking coffee right along, don't think it's messed me up. Some people do have problems with it, some people don't.
One cup a day is rather conservative, I think. In fact, some sources say that caffeine increases the burning of fat.
