Question colon cleansing and stalls

Just wondering if any have tried colon cleansing as a way to get the wieght loss started and if it could possibly be a stall breaker? Just looking into this and curious about results if any?

Also, were they over the counter cleansers or clinically performed?

Thanks bunches all.

The only way that could help is if you are seriously constipated. If you are suffering constapation read up on the tips page on how to correct that through diet first, then move to enamas and cleansing. If you don't get to the route of why you are extreamly constipated the problem would just repeate unless it is an actual blockage of some kind.

There is a lot of documentation about this and how it helps your complete system balance out again. (bacterias become healthy etc..) I didn't mean to imply that this alone would make you drop lbs overnight just from the procedure. Just heard that this can assist in weight loss. Any other info is greatly appreciated. Thx.

I will help you lose, but the negatives, IMHO far outweight the fast loss. When I did it, I was awake in the middle of the night with such aweful cramps then when it came time to go to work in the morning, it was a coin toss whether I'd make it, if you know what I mean.

ACtually it would to more damage then good to the bacterias because teh good bacterias would be eliminated, allowing candidia or yeast to multiply. Though I think most of that is higher in the digestive system then the colon.

If intestinal health is your concern, why not start adding yogurt and live good bacterias to your diet. Take yeast fighters, follow the candidia restricted diet for just a week to get things balanced, abd look into FOS, a form of fiber that supports healthy bacterias.

Thank you for your replies. And yes, those sugar alcohols do cleanse the system well. LOL I have quit all those for that reason only. No yogurt and I NEED my cheese and such to make it through this WOL. Just looking for that stall buster and info on subject.

just a quick note, i was having the constipation thing going and went to the health food store and bought a product called colon cleanse. this isnt a quick fix, you take them at night and then gradually cut them back until you are going twice a day on your own. this works great, with no cramps or anything. also the fiber really helped my stalls

Mary...

I have heard horror stories about those candy bars so I haven't even tried them but I did discover Russell Stover LOW carb (vs. sugar free... totally different product) candy yesterday. Tastes just like Dove Chocolate! I tried Milk Chocolate and French Mint. Yummmmm About the size of a Tootsie Roll and 0.2 carbs each.

MishInAZ - Hate to tell ya, but the sugar free an dthe Low carb are the same dang thing in different packaging. They both cintain sugar alcohols, which is what causes the laxative effect. Read the article about sugar alcohols, I think it's under "The truth about low carb sweetners" link to the side. It can help you learn how to recognize SA's

Some people have no effect at all form them. Others are only sensative to certain ones. So while one candy may make you stall or have gas pains, another won't. Remember though over endulgance in any candy, even LC will effect your weight loss.

Well, the labels are different on Sugarfree vs. LC in the sense that Sugarfree RS products are loaded with carbs, the low carb isn't. That's what I meant.

As for the SA's... I know. I just didn't have problems with the candy. Maybe it is a smaller quantity???
