Default Atkins Accel in Induction?

I was looking at all the Atkins products the other day and purchased the Essential Oils and Accel. After I got home, I was reading the box and realized it said that it wasn't recommended during Induction. I was just wondering if anyone knew why or if anyone had taken it during induction. Thanks.

I think because the green tea has caffiene, I've been taking it since I started the diet...as well as induction without any problems!

I am surprised at what you read. I thought that the Atkins stuff was sold as a basic Induction kit. I woudn't worry too much about it. A good vitamin supplement helps losing. If you want, wait until Induction is over and then take it.

Swoozie, when did you start? I see you have already lost 50 lbs. and became a new member in September 2003. You must have been doing this before.

I started February 4, as of today I've lost almost 60 pounds...just got back from vaca and gained 2 not worried though....I treated myself a bit..a bit of pizza crust here....a rita's water ice there...back on track now, but considering where I started (size 14...tight) to a size 2 (loose) I'm not that concerned!

Atkins has changed my life, I still can't believe it!

Not trying to be impolite (well maybe to The Atkins Company then...) but I'm flabbergasted by the pricing of the Atkins brand supplements... Can anyone let me in on why on earth one would chose to splash out for, for instance, 45(!) tablets of "Atkins Accel" for $25.99 *gulp-a-roo* instead of an alternative brand Chrome, 250 tablet package, for $4 and have a cup of green tea with it? Or have I missed something, here? Some extra superduper ingredient worth the extra 22 bucks? Personally, I'd rather spend that money on something else...

I totally agree Gilibel. Not to diss the Atkins products but they're so friggin' expensive! Hopefully over time, increased sales and competition will help the prices out. Till then we'll just have to find 'alternatives'.

Well, finding alternatives is a piece of cake. The market is overloaded with supplements since at least half a century, and the prices are already low on most vitamineral products. Special products like L-Carnitine, ephedra, guarana etc can be purchased in health/gym shops and sportsclubs. There are other high class brands, just as conscious as Atkins about quality (body builders - the main consumers of these things - are very picky about what they put into their bodies), but way cheaper. One can probably save up til 90% of the expenses in total, choosing not to fall for the Atkins brand hype. Me thinks.

These are the first supplements I've been able to take that don't give me funny side effects, light headedness, headaches, etc. I've tried others and they make me a mess! No side effects at all with the accel...

As far as pricing, I go through 2 bottles a month (45 caps) and I pay around $9.00/bottle....$18.00/month is well worth it to me to not feel funky...and it does seem to help with cravings, etc.!
