Default Wooohoooo--goodbye, Lipitor!

I absolutely cannot believe this! I just talked to my doctor about my new cholesterol results and he said they're so good, there're at the level of the top 1 or 2 percent of the American population! I didn't even get to mention my triglycerides, which are now down to 57!!!!

So I'm easing off Lipitor, cutting my dose in half for three months and then rechecking the numbers to make sure all is well before chucking the bottle permanently out the window.

THANK YOU DRS. ATKINS and EADES!!!

RoseTattoo,

Congratulatons!! Let us know how you fare without the Lipitor. My best wishes!! I'm trying to avoid a cholesterol drug (I was given a choice between diet and exercise or a cholesterol drug).

Again, all the best,

Jeanne48

Fantastic!!!!!

Please keep us posted with how your cholesterol maintains with out the lipitor. My hubby's cholesterol is now below 200 yet the doctor told him that he will be on lipitor the rest of his life!?!?! I know that he has drasticly changed his eating habits over the last five years!!! He eats much better and has lost weight!!! This does not make sense to me!!!

My doctor told me in June to cut my lipitor in half (now on 5 mgs a day), and I also go back in December to recheck. My lipid panels were super (completely in the normal or better) range when I had them checked in June 2003. I'm really curious to see (in December) whether it was the weight loss plus low carb, or just the weight loss.

I'd love to get off the lipitor for good. BTW, prescription Niacin did nothing to help my levels. I guess everyone is different.

Kay

Fantastic!

Your story gives me hope. I've been on Lipitor for 6 months
now. Since LCing & losing weight, my chol is down to 158
(from 265) and my TriGly are down to 85 (from 208). HDL
still is not with the program (37).

Here's hoping you can chuck that bottle out the window!

Mark
