Question Water Question

Does flavored water like the stuff found at Wal-mart count in your water intake for the day?

Edited to add that these are the kind sith sucralose, not aspartame.

Thanks,
Wendy

Yup. It counts. What kind does your Wal-Mart carry with sucralose? I can only find the aspartame kind at mine! ...and I drink it anyway. The grapefruit kind is too good to pass up, and I can't find an alternative.

It actually came from a local Kroger grocery store. The brand is "Crystal Clear", and it is usually on sale for .50 per liter bottle. I can drink 3 or 4 of these things a day!

Hey there.....

Just a quick comment. I understand that for a lot of us, beginning to get in the water recommended, is difficult. By continuing with sweetened drinks, you won't really develop your natural thirst. Really, the only thing that "counts" as water is the real thing and it may surprise you to find that if you persist and make the effort to get in the 6-8 glasses of water a day, you will find after about a week, that you actually NEED it! Drinking your water is one of the best things you can do for yourself as your body truly needs it to regulate temperature and to help to flush your system.

To wean yourself from the sweet stuff, try diluting it down bit by bit until you are drinking pure water. And don't forget, sweetners (even in small amounts) may slow down your weight loss and may keep you craving sweets.

I hate drinking water and I practically have to force myself to consume my needed 10-12 glasses a day. So I devised a little "trick" to help me out a bit. First I get a large gallon water pitcher and measure out my daily water into it. Then I simply add Splenda and lemon juice (either with lemon slices or bottled) till it's palatable enough for me. Usually four packets of Splenda and roughly 2 tbs of lemon juice but I'm sure it will vary from person to person. Also, the lemon juice has a very nice diuretic effect, which helps me a lot with water retention.
