Default newbie on the loose

Okay...I just wanted to say hello and say what a great site I think this is. I was reluctant to join, but I've read questions and replys and you all are so nice and supportive. My husband and I have been LCing for a little over two weeks now and it's not too bad. We have had some good changes. I have been on probably almost every diet ever created and this is the first lifestyle change I feel will work and continue to work. If anyone has any tips or helpful hints, they are greatly appreciated, especially snack and easy sidedish ideas. Thanks.

Cool Help me to loose!!

I am NEW!!

I am looking for any support and information that I can get. I am currently 176 lbs and am looking to get down to 125 or 130. At this point I really don't care as long as I am under 160. I walk probably 2 or 3 times a week with a neighbor of mine so, i am working on the exercise but, the low carb thing even after reading New Diet REV probably 3 times is Greek to me. My biggest problem is cooking, I don't I fast food or restraunt everything. (Sigh) But, that is one reason why i am doing this I feel that I should be able to live my funky lifestyle on a low carb. But, is it truly as easy as not eating the bun on a burger and having nothing but meat and cheese and eggs all the time? HELP!! I am desperate for someone to dumb this up a bit for me. My other addiction in Diet Coke. Is this a big no-no or is it tolerable! Please help me.

Thank you all so much!!
Nicole

Nicole- I am new, too, so I don't know if I'm an acceptable person to be the advice giver, but I was seriously addicted to Diet Pepsi. I mean that my husband and I could go through three cubes a week and I NEVER drank water. My suggestion is just let it go and don't look back. After the first week, we were Pepsi-less and proud of ourselves, not to mention all the money we're saving! I don't love water, but I really notice that if I don't hit my 8 glasses a day, the weight doesn't move. Trust me, you will feel so good after letting the caffeine and aspartame go...we do! When I want something fizzy, I reward myself with a glass of Strawberry Kiwi Diet Rite...it is sooooo good. Try the Diet Rite, if you haven't already. We don't really like the cola flavor, but you might. Never know if you don't try it. As for your question on just not eating the bun...that's true, but watch out for hidden carbs in the sauces, gravies and ketchup. We've eaten out a few times and you would not believe how accommodating the places are if you just ask questions and tell them you don't want carbs or sugars. Hope I've helped a little. Good luck!
