Default Refeeding??? I dont think so...

I dont think refeeding will work... i noticed that one day after a bad cheat including ice-cream, pizza and chocolate the next day i stepped on the scale and i was down a lb, wow, the day after i was up a lb, the day after that 2, then the day after that 3. Weight fluctuates and a one day binge does not help anything. If anything it makes a bad situation worse. If your lucky it wont affect your weight, but it certainly is not going to cause you to loose any weight. How would adding carbs and increasing insulin cause weight loss when too much carbs and insulin was the problem to begin with??? It would just bump you out of ketosis, and then you'd have to spend the next couple days with an ineffecient metabolism and an unstable blood sugar level. Someone explain to me how this could possibly work. I feel like im scientific proof that it doesnt.

I read that the best refeed is a day of low-fat, high-carb foods. Start with simple carbs and switch to starchy carbs. Also, fruit isn't allowed. The reason that refeeding seems to work for people is because it raises leptin levels. Whenever you loose weight, your leptin level goes down, making it harder for you to loose weight. A refeed is supposed to up your leptin.
I have been on a stall for about 2 months now and I haven't tried a refeed day yet because I am going to start to up my exercise and see if that helps. But, I think I will try a refeed at some point. I'll post how it goes.

Hi,
This caught my eye,,,I also noticed one thing about the refeeding, it states that you have to workout.(unless I'm reading this wrong)...My husband did something like this about two years ago and lost 35lbs in about a month...
He basically eliminated anything made from flour out of his diet,,,except oatmeal which he ate every morning..salad for lunch... chicken breast and veggies for dinner.. daily.....1 day a week he would eat whatever..pizza, hot dogs, 3 whopper,whatever...and I do mean whatever, but he was at the track daily walking/jogging 2-3 miles 4x a week. So maybe having all those carbs gives you extra engery to burn when you workout.....Just a thought...... though.

Refeed Update....Well the day after the refeed I felt terrific...full of energy and just felt on top of the world... Felt that way for about 3 days afterwards... Also, I did gain about 4 pounds... However....I lost it within the week along with 1 additional pound....

However, since then, I started my cycle and am currently waiting for it to end to see if the loss continues.... Hope this helps... Will post an update once my cycle has ended....
