Default Atkins Phase 2 and cherries and ketosis?

The Atkins site list berries and fruits that you can introduce in Phase 2 (Ongoing Weight Loss). On the list of ok fruits are cherries!

I have now moved into phase two and ate some awesome cherries I got at the fruit stand today. Unfortunately this seems to have knocked me totally out of ketosis. Does this mean I will stop losing weight? or do you eventually move out of ketosis and still lose weight?

Default Hmmm...

What size portion did you have? Usually, Atkins figures portions to be ungodly small IMO. Those 5-gram increments we're supposed to increase a week wouldn't allow many cherries!

Another question, how can you tell you're out of ketosis, the strips? If so, remember they won't register once your carb level gets past a certain point.

You can lose weight without ketosis. Stable blood sugar doesn't necessarily mean ketosis, but they both aid in weight loss.

Enjoy phase 2 and your cherries!

They were soooo good I probably ate more than I should have and will limit myself to 3 or 4 next time. Even though I am in Phase 2 I am still rarely making it over 20 carbs, I really have just added some of the other foods (berries, nuts, etc.).

It is good to know you can still lose weight and not be in ketosis (yes I used the strips to test).

Thanks, I am not going to sweat it and see how things are tomorrow.
