Question stopping automatic email notification?

For the past couple of months I have been trying to stop the email notification. I have gone into my profile and the box is unchecked but I still keep getting the emails. I'm one of those that hates this feature, I don't check this email very often so then I end up with hundreds of emails to delete. What am I doing wrong? I used to not get them before it was switched back for those who wanted the emails.

Changing the setting in your profile to not get notification emails will only stop the function for "future" threads. You will continue to get emails for any threads you were subscribed to up till that point.

You can unsubscribe easily by clicking on the link that's in each and every email notice ... there's a option to unsubscribe from that one thread, or from all threads. That should do the trick.
