How long is a piece of string?

Yes hot water with a slice of lemon is allowed. If you add lemon juice then that will have more carbs.

I have just looked in Fitday and a slice is around 0.5 carbs and the whole lemon around 5 carbs. The rest is up to you.

Hot water and lemon juice is often recommended on detoxes as a way of boosting liver function. You're supposed to have it first thing in the morning before you do anything else.

It's something I was doing even before I started low carbing. I can't be bothered with buying and squeezing fresh lemons, so I use a "10 count squeeze" of bottled lemon juice instead I measured it one day and it was about one teaspoon of juice, amounting to less than 1g carb.

Lynda,

I thought the same at first, but I assure you the taste grows on you Besides, the fact that I'm drinking something that's good for me rather than the opposite adds a certain incentive to my tastebuds
